Madrid 2026
In June 2026, I took part in ExpoMétro Madrid with one of my colour photographs. Presented alongside works by international artists, it was displayed on a large scale in a public space in the Spanish capital.
The photograph I selected was taken during a photowalk through New York in 2024.
For me, New York and Madrid are two cities shaped in very different ways by movement, culture and the life unfolding on their streets.
What fascinates me most about ExpoMétro is the direct encounter between art and everyday life. The works are displayed where people go about their daily lives. They also reach those who might not normally visit a gallery or exhibition – sometimes only for a fleeting moment, sometimes prompting them to pause and look more closely.
Following my previous participation in Barcelona and Rome, Madrid was another memorable experience within this international project. I am delighted that my photography once again became part of the public space and had the opportunity to reach a wide audience.

Im Juni 2026 war ich mit einer Farbfotografie bei der ExpoMétro Madrid vertreten. Gemeinsam mit Arbeiten internationaler Künstlerinnen und Künstler wurde sie großformatig im öffentlichen Raum der spanischen Hauptstadt präsentiert.
Das von mir ausgewählte Motiv ist ein Foto, welches 2024 während eines Photowalks durch New York entstand .
New York und Madrid sind für mich zwei Städte, die auf ganz unterschiedliche Weise von Bewegung, Kultur und dem Leben auf ihren Straßen geprägt sind. An ExpoMétro fasziniert mich besonders die direkte Begegnung zwischen Kunst und Alltag. Die Arbeiten werden dort gezeigt, wo Menschen unterwegs sind. Sie erreichen auch diejenigen, die nicht gezielt eine Galerie oder Ausstellung besuchen – manchmal nur für einen flüchtigen Augenblick, manchmal verbunden mit einem kurzen Innehalten.
Nach meinen Teilnahmen in Barcelona und Rom war Madrid eine weitere schöne Erfahrung innerhalb dieses internationalen Projekts. Ich freue mich, dass meine Fotografie auf diese Weise erneut Teil des öffentlichen Raums wurde und einem breiten Publikum begegnen konnte.

Tristan Eaton's "Audrey Hepburn"

High above the sidewalk, Audrey Hepburn watches the restless rhythm of Manhattan. Tristan Eaton’s mural from 2013 transforms the timeless elegance of her face into a vibrant collage of color, fragments, and urban memory.
Taxi horns, footsteps, fragments of conversation — the city moves on, indifferent and alive. Yet for a brief moment the gaze of Audrey seems to hold the street still, suspended between old Hollywood grace and the raw poetry of contemporary street art.
I encountered this wall during a photowalk through Manhattan in August 2024. In New York, even icons eventually become part of the street — layered into the city like another story written on brick.

Hoch über dem Gehweg blickt Audrey Hepburn auf den rastlosen Rhythmus Manhattans. Tristan Eatons Wandbild aus dem Jahr 2013 verwandelt die zeitlose Eleganz ihres Gesichts in eine lebendige Collage aus Farben, Fragmenten und urbanen Erinnerungen.
Taxihupen, Schritte, Gesprächsfetzen – die Stadt bewegt sich weiter, ungerührt und voller Leben. Doch für einen kurzen Moment scheint Audreys Blick die Straße zum Stillstand zu bringen, schwebend zwischen der Eleganz des alten Hollywoods und der rauen Poesie zeitgenössischer Street Art.
Während eines Photowalks durch Manhattan im August 2024 entdeckte ich dieses Wandbild. In New York werden selbst Ikonen irgendwann Teil der Straße – eingeschrieben in die Stadt wie eine weitere Geschichte auf Backstein.
